Rhiwbina Amateur Theatrical Society

RATS Virtual Concert 2021

Welcome to the Rats Virtual Concert.

As you know Covid put an end to our usual activities back in March 2020. As soon as some of the restrictions we relaxed we wanted to bring some entertainment back to the stage of Rhiwbina Memorial Hall. The members of the group all jumped back on board and our concert could have been twice as long! So after a little rehearsal and a lot of head scratching as to how we could do it and keep to all the Covid guidance, here it is.

We hope you enjoy and look forward to seeing you back in person sometime soon.

Act One

Act Two

Joseph’s Coat performed by RATS

Some of our members have filmed themselves singing the hit from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat whilst in lockdown.

We had performed a live version of Joseph to sold out audiences in Rhiwbina in January this year and some of the cast have filmed themselves singing the well-known hit, Joseph’s Coat, whilst in isolation to share with friends and audiences online.

Whilst rehearsals had begun for our next performance, Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution, due to the current situation with coronavirus the show has been postponed with the society currently unable to meet.

Since we first formed in 1957; we have staged more than 200 performances in Rhiwbina Memorial Hall for audiences in south Wales. Normally performing 4 shows per year, this will be the first time in over 60 years the society has been unable to present a show.

Whilst we are in these uncertain times and unable to meet as a society, it is great to be able to share this fun video of some of our talented cast members performing. We hope this brings a bit of joy to those who view it and very much look forward to welcoming our members and audiences back to future performances when it is safe to do so.

Rhiwbina Amateur Theatrical Society is part of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. If you would like to show your support and help to guarantee the future of the society, you can donate here:

It is with great reluctance and disappointment that the committee has made the decision to postpone all activities and shows with immediate effect. After a lengthy discussion we have reached the opinion that we simply cannot risk the health and wellbeing of our audience, patrons, members, cast and crew.

Sadly, we have also made the decision to postpone our next two shows until next year. We hope that both Witness for the Prosecution and Blackadder II will be performed at a later date as yet to be confirmed.

Everyone who has bought tickets will be refunded - if you have bought tickets through TicketSource then you will get an automated refund, if you bought tickets through another source then you will be contacted to arrange a refund.

We wish everyone the very best and hope you stay healthy, hopefully we will see you all back for Role Play in October.

As always, please get in contact if you have any questions.
